Rachel Keller

RachelRachel Keller is a fictional character from The Ring film series. The character was created by producer and writer Ehren Kruger and portrayed by Naomi Watts, serves as the main character in The Ring and The Ring Two that share similarities to Reiko Asakawa, the protagonist of the original Japanese films.Introduced in the 2002 film, Rachel is an investigative journalist, who must find a way to escape death after having to watch a video that was cursed that she discovered during her investigation into the murder of her niece. Rachel must look into the death of Samara Morgan who is her son, in The Ring Two. Ruth Rachel's sister is adamant Rachel to look into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Katie's sudden death. Rachel reveals to Rachel that she discovered her daughter's distorted corpse in the closet, and that the cause of Katie's death was due to a heart attack, in spite of Katie being an incredibly healthy teenager. Katie's friends inform Rachel about the myth that surrounds the tape with the curse and the story of how Katie's friend Becca was put in an institution following Katie's death. Katie's boyfriend, as well as two of her acquaintances died in an accident the same night at 10 after 10. Rachel goes to Shelter Mountain Inn, where she stays in Cabin 12. The cabin in question is one where Katie and her friends saw the tape with the curse. Rachel discovers the tape after which, the phone rings. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel discovers that Anna was the mother of an adoptive daughter, Samara. She was capable of creating disturbing images that were able to be projected into the minds of humans, animals and other objects. Rachel gets to know Anna's widower Richard and he asks her leave after she starts to inquire about Samara.
