Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as an American performer and rapper, releasing sly tracks that tackled issues such as racial and sexual identities with a funny twist. In the years before she stepped to Hollywood her career, she had the opportunity to perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first music experience. She was a trumpet player. Then, she started hip-hop and classical training. Following a focus on education, she earned a degree in journalism in college and a women's studies major. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus towards music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also contained viral hits including body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was another initiative. Her resume contained both an the musician and author. The singer was seeking to expand her career into acting. In addition to early series, such Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered a series of notable performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
