LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born on December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nicknamed King James he is widely thought to be one of the best athletes of all time. He is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player in history. James was awarded two Olympic golds and four NBA titles. James is the holder of having the top score of points in the post-season, second best overall career score and 7th most career assists. The NBA All-Star has made the All-NBA Team 18 times, a record. James was also named to make the NBA All-Defensive First Team 5 times. The third-highest number in NBA Finals ever was ten which included eight consecutive games between 2011-2018. James was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. He became the NBA's first player to score 10,000 points, 10 rebounds and an assist in 2022. James played basketball for St. Vincent St. Mary High School close to his home in Akron Ohio. His future NBA career was hypnotized by media. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the first pick of the NBA draft in 2003. Being the NBA rookie player of 2004 he established himself rapidly as one of the best players in the league. earning the NBA MVP award for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. After failing to win an NBA championship, Cleveland James left in 2010 by way of a free-agent to join the Miami Heat this was announced during the TV program The Decision and is among the most controversial free agent decisions in sports history.
